I’ve read a lot of negative articles recently about the demise/lack of popularity concerning
QR Codes. Some of the points I’ve seem are valid but many aren’t in my opinion. I’ll save that topic for another day. Today I want to show you an effective use of QR Codes at a music festival. This is quite a different approach and I’m presenting it here because I think it could spur your imagination to come up with some creative applications that you could use in your business.
Heineken was the sponsor of a Music Festival and decided to use personalized QR Codes for each attendee. The video does a good job of telling the story. They set up a place where people could go and type some text about themselves, what was on their mind etc. kind of like a mini social media profile. As the people walked around the festival the idea was to let people scan each other as an icebreaker so to speak in order to enhance interaction among the attendees. They had a 200% better participation rate than expected. Check out the video and leave a comment that tells us about the ideas that this concept has spawned that you could use in your business.
